Thanks, Charlie!
Seven years ago, RTÉ’s Charlie Bird lent his support to the campaign for Marriage Equality, and helped the Yes campaign secure a decisive victory in the referendum. Last month, some members of Dublin Pride came to me for help in making a special book for this very special man as a way of saying “Thank you, Charlie!” The result is Climb Every Mountain: Charlie Bird’s Marriage Equality Journey.
Personal tributes
Over 30 campaigners, organisers and friends sent personal tributes to be included in the book. Karl Hayden provided photographs which documented the faces and places of the campaign and showed Charlie in the midst of it all.

For me, the most special moment of the night was when Charlie used his voice technology to give a speech and thank everyone who had made the book for him.
