Donovan and Linda’s book celebrates 50 years of Love and Peace
RTÉ’s Today presenters Daithi O’Sé and Maura Dirrane seemed very taken this week with ‘Luna Love’, a book I produced for music legend Donovan and his wife Linda Lawrence in time for their 50th wedding anniversary.
“It’s more than a work of art, it’s like a museum inside a book,” enthused Daithi. “It’s jam-packed.”
Linda (above) started the book as a legacy for her children, but it grew into a full-blown story of her extraordinary life. She started out making a collection of photographs and hand-made collages, but Donovan suggested to her she turn it into a real book, keeping the hand-made feel of an original artwork.
“It’s an art memoir,” Donovan says. “We wanted to make the book feel like a work of craft. It’s a beautiful piece of work”. The couple made a select few handmade copies of the book with photo printers Inspirational Arts, then came to me to produce a fine edition to share with a wider audience.
